Tyres

Under European legislation, all tyres need to have a minimum tread depth of 1.6 mm across 3/4 of the tyre, and along the complete circumference. For safety reasons we recommend that your tyres are changed before the legal limit is reached.

  • Abnormal Tyre Wear
  • There are many different reasons for abnormal tyre wear such as:
  • Under inflation or over inflation of tyre pressure
  • Wheel alignment issues can cause uneven tyre wear
  • Emergency braking
  • Cuts in the tyre wall or depth
  • Tyre cracking or perishing
  • Impact damage (bulge on side wall)

Regular tyre inspections from your local Eurofit Autocentres consists of checking tyre pressures and visually inspecting car tyres for safety and optimum fuel efficiency.

Tyre Labelling Explained

A tyre label is a grading system; tyres are ranked in the terms of fuel consumption, wet grip and noise classification. Tyres are measured as A being the highest rating and G, the lowest rating. All of Eurofit Autocentres car tyres have labelling attached.

Tyre Warning Sign on Dashboard

Some vehicles are fitted with run flat tyres which, when under inflated, will illuminate a run flat warning light on the dashboard. Eurofit Autocentres have the technology to repair and reset this light for you.
